The Members of the Laois Business Network are proud to announce that we have raised €1000 for our local charity The Cuisle Centre Portlaoise.  We organised a table quiz which took place in Grellan Delaney’s Portlaoise and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in this event as it was a huge success.

The black tie event, held at the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise, was a tremendous success. Senator Mary Ann O’Brien of Lily O’Briens Chocolates was the after dinner speaker, RTÉ’s (and Mountrath’s) Claire Byrne was the glamorous and entertaining MC and music was provided by Damien Bowe and his band. Thanks are due to the many local businesses which generously donated raffle prizes and those who bought tickets even though they were unable to attend.

Handing over the cheque for €4,221 to Sharon Foley, CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Laois Business Network Chairman, David Finn, said “On behalf of all the Laois Business Network members I would like to say a big thanks to everyone that supported this event. We raised much needed funds for a great charity and a great night was had by all.”

Laois native and CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Sharon Foley, said “We were delighted to be the selected charity to benefit from the recent Laois Business Network annual black tie gala ball.  Funds raised on the night will go towards supporting our very worthwhile Children’s Hospice Homecare programme.  I was very impressed with the organisation of this event and how smoothly it ran on the night, well done to David Finn and his great committee for all the work they put into making the event a great success.  We were also very grateful to all who attended the event.  It is very much appreciated”
