Cearbhuil Studios participates in the KLCK Photography and Video Workshop 18th May

Sign up for a special one day event organised by KLCK for just €40.00 including a light lunch (Pre-booking would be very helpful for the organisers!)

The morning will consist of a photography workshop with Damien Carroll from Cearbhuil Studios where you will learn how to get the most from your cameras/mobile phones. If you want to take great photos but aren’t sure how, this workshop is for you. Topics will include:
• Introduction to the concept of photography
• The perfect camera
• Light and how it works – go beyond basic auto
• Composition – the basic rules

After lunch there will be a Video workshop with Amanda Webb from Spiderworking.com where you will learn how to create short video blogs. If you want to use video but don’t know where to start this workshop will help. Topics will include:
• How businesses use video for blogging.
• How to plan your video – what should it be about.
• How to frame your shot.
• How to choose a location.
• Tips on editing.

Award winning website designers and developers Modus recently redesigned the website of one of Ireland’s leading contract cleaning companies. David Finn who is the managing director at Kyle Cleaning says the the new site really reflects the quality of service that people can expect from his business.

Modus also developed the website for the Laois Business Network.

Laois Business Network Gala Black Tie Ball raises €4,221 for the Irish Hospice Foundation’s ‘Hospice Homecare for Children’ campaign

The black tie event, held at the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise, was a tremendous success. Senator Mary Ann O’Brien of Lily O’Briens Chocolates was the after dinner speaker, RTÉ’s (and Mountrath’s) Claire Byrne was the glamorous and entertaining MC and music was provided by Damien Bowe and his band. Thanks are due to the many local businesses which generously donated raffle prizes and those who bought tickets even though they were unable to attend.

Handing over the cheque for €4,221 to Sharon Foley, CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Laois Business Network Chairman, David Finn, said “On behalf of all the Laois Business Network members I would like to say a big thanks to everyone that supported this event. We raised much needed funds for a great charity and a great night was had by all.”

Laois native and CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Sharon Foley, said “We were delighted to be the selected charity to benefit from the recent Laois Business Network annual black tie gala ball. Funds raised on the night will go towards supporting our very worthwhile Children’s Hospice Homecare programme. I was very impressed with the organisation of this event and how smoothly it ran on the night, well done to David Finn and his great committee for all the work they put into making the event a great success. We were also very grateful to all who attended the event. It is very much appreciated”
